Waveform Plastics is located in the Burk's Falls region of Ontario, Canada, in the traditional territory of the Mississaugas and Anishnaabeg. This territory is covered by the Williams Treaties.
We love and respect the lands that we work and live on, both personally and in the way we operate our business. We understand that much of what we now enjoy and benefit from is, at least in part, the result of thousands of years of careful stewardship and management by the people that lived, and live, on those lands. We thank those guardians, and the land and nature, for what it provides each one of us with every day.
We believe it's important to note that acknowledging these territories is only a small part of building a new relationship with the indigenous peoples of Canada. We acknowledge that we have racial biases. As the descendants of colonial settlers, it is our responsibility to develop a real understanding of the impact that racism and colonialism has had on Canada's first peoples. But words have no meaning if they are not followed up with action, and we continue to learn about the past so that maybe we can be a small part of creating a better future. We encourage everyone to learn about the history of the lands and the peoples on which you are currently sitting, so that we can move forward in a spirit of partnership and reconciliation.
